As you can see, there are a number of options to choose from in planning a Great Loop route. We plan to travel
up the East Coast from Florida this spring, then take the northernmost route on the map above, enjoying the sights and
solitude of Canada this coming summer. As for our the river route south in the fall, we are getting off the
Mississippi as soon as possible, and taking the more easterly route on the map above, to limit our encounters with barges
and other commercial traffic, and maximize our encounters with natural beauty.
